Intentional Intimacy

Intentional Intimacy is a 2-hour Relationship Reset for Couples & Individuals

Help nurture your relationship within a two-hour long integrated mind-body consultation focused on building intimacy through understanding common traps and triggers you might get stuck in and learning key ways to overcome them. For any couples in need of a reboot, leave feeling clearer, closer and consciously engaged with tools to help you nurture your relationship and continue the work outside of the consulting room. For individuals in search of understanding of themselves better in relationships, the repetitive patterns and helping them to indentify their relational needs more clearly.

Couples with Chronic Illness

Therapy for couples with a variety of long-term health conditions

I specialise in working with couples where one partner suffers from chronic illness and long-term health conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease, Cognitive Disorders and Clinical Depression, which inevitably impacts the couple relationship. I aim to develop the couple’s resources to enable them to deepen their understanding and ability to cope with change.

Making that first step to access help and be willing to share your thoughts, feelings and ideas with another person is a brave and responsible act. It's also a positive move towards helping you ease some of the wobbles, struggles and conflicts you may be having. Seeking help also demonstrates a capacity to think which is essential in bringing about change and making your life more in line with your needs and intentions.

I will seek to build a meaningful relationship with you so that together, with curiosity, we can understand areas of your life, cope with change, and overcome your obstacles. Often, problem related transitions are linked both to loss and separation, of having to let go of something in order to make space for something new. This can be challenging and I am committed to supporting you through this process of change.

— Brené Brown

The style of psychotherapy in which I work is psychoanalytic which means that I consider unconscious processes to play an important part in our experience of ourselves and of our relationships. Additionally, I am trained in a range of other models, including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and family systemic therapy, which means I am also integrative and use a diverse range of ways of engaging and exploring these processes and believe that we jointly work together to search for and create meaning.  I see individuals and couples for both intensive open-ended and brief work who are experiencing a wide variety of difficulties.

Let’s Chat

If you have any questions about seeking individual therapy or couples counselling, or if you would like to find out more about my way of working, please feel free to contact me via email and I will try to reply within 24 hours of receiving your message. Following a first contact by email, we can then agree a time to meet via Zoom for an initial online consultation. This meeting gives you the thinking space to describe what is causing you difficulties at present and to have an opportunity to think about how you got there so that we can start to see a way of working together.
